We are seeking a Junior Associate to provide hands-on legal support across contract drafting, conveyancing, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. Working under senior lawyer supervision, you will take early ownership of matters appropriate to your level and develop sound professional judgment through genuine exposure to real work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Legal Research & Advisory: Conduct legal research, drafting opinions, memos and legal briefs, on commercial contracts, data protection, employment law, conveyancing and any other areas of law.
  • Contract Drafting: Draft and review of contracts including SLAs, NDAs, leases, and partnership agreements; support negotiation and template development.
  • Conveyancing: Assist with conveyancing transactions, title verification, due diligence, and liaising with the Lands Registry, Ardhisasa, and relevant regulators.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support compliance with the different statutory requirements; draft policies, compliance checklists, and contribute to legal audits.
  • Dispute Resolution: Draft and review pleadings or other relevant documents, attending court and tribunals, assisting in resolution of disputes through ADR mechanisms, witness and trial preparation.
  • Client Engagement: Liaise with clients and other stakeholders; support drafting and presentation at trainings and webinars; attend client meetings and support new client onboarding.
  • Practice Development: Attending and conducting trainings on relevant areas of law to the practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • KCSE: Mean grade of B+ or above.
  • LL.B: Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from a recognised institution (transcript required).
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Law: From Kenya School of Law.
  • Practising Certificate: A valid practicing certificate.
  • Experience: 0–2 years’ post-admission.
  • Professional Experience: Experience working at a busy law firm.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical and drafting ability.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, case management systems, E-Citizen, Ardhisasa, the judiciary’s e-filing system, and legal research platforms.
  • Professional Attributes: High attention to detail, sound professional judgment, and a strong work ethic.
